A zenith of one of the four minarets of the Taj Mahal tumbled off on Monday evening amid repair work, witnesses said.
However, authorities said it was taken out as a result of its powerless condition.
Superintending paleologist Bhuvan Vikram of the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) told IANS that the apex did not fall but rather was taken out in view of its powerless condition.
